Headaches will not only ruin the day and productivity, but they can also transform into migraines.
Chiropractic is a proven, safe alternative for treating headaches. Essential Life Chiropractic has helped hundreds of people get off pain medications for headaches. Headaches are a warning sign that something is off in the body and can be triggered by dehydration, caffeine, tight trapezius muscles or a neck bone being out of place pressing on the nerve that goes to the head/forehead. Dr. Yvonne is an expert at finding and correcting the cause of the headache, so pills don’t have to be your only answer.
Dr. Yvonne had chronic headaches since she was in preschool, this puts her in a unique position to understand all that comes along with headaches and the best way to treat them. She is trained in corrective chiropractic that will decrease headaches not just for the moment but for the long term. Stress, trauma, sleeping wrong, sitting all day, etc. can cause bones to go out of place in the midback/neck. This can lead to muscle spasm and headaches. She addresses the muscles and bones to decrease tension and increase days without headaches. She is also great at giving simple exercises that are specific to each person to decrease tension in the neck.
There are two proven ways to evaluate for misalignment of the bones in the spine that cause headaches:
1. Postural examination and palpation of the spine
2. Motion X-rays of the neck
Addressing the Root of the Problem
When Looking at a person from the front, the spine must be straight. The head, shoulders, hips, and feet should all line-up. When looking at a person from the side, the ears should be back over the shoulders and the shoulders should be back over the pelvis. Your posture and spine are abnormal, which can cause headaches, if:
- Your head is visibly tilted, shifted or rotated in one direction.
- Your head juts out in front of your chest and shoulders.
- One shoulder is higher than the other, turned in one direction, or your whole upper body is shifted to one side.
If any of these are the case, chiropractic care can help decrease your headaches.
